How Did Making Money Online Get Such a Bad Reputation?

When I first ventured into internet marketing, there wasn’t much negative publicity or myths about making money online. But after some time, people started perpetuating several myths about making money online.  Though we may not even know how these myths were contrived or who founded them, I know that these myths have become a stumbling block for thousands of people who want to make real money online.  Let’s  look at 5 outrageous reasons why people think that making money online is  a myth.

1) Making Money Online is a Scam

 

I have come across several reasons, but none is as outrageous and misleading as this statement: *making money online is a scam.  Don’t ever fall for this outrageous myth as it will deny you the chance of realizing your dream of making money online. This outrageous statement is perpetuated by people who are ignorant about the opportunities available online. Though there are scams out there, it’s important to know that there are genuine opportunities too. You will be surprised to know that there are so many good people who work hard and who just want to make decent money online.

 

 

Trust me, not everyone doing business on the internet has ulterior motives.  I believe it’s ridiculous for anyone to think that everyone doing business online is a scam.  You will be surprised to know that there are so many good people who work hard. Most of them just want to make decent money online. Those who sign up for a get rich quick scheme only come out to scandalize every opportunity, even genuine ones because they didn’t want to make money legitimately.  

 

2) No One is Making Money Online

 

The second and most outrageous reason why people think that making money online is myth is that that no one is making money online.     To be honest, I really don’t know who conceived and perpetuated this myth. Undeniably, it’s the worst misconception because it makes people with great potential reluctant to invest in internet ventures.  The truth is  that anyone can make money on the internet.  Nothing is impossible. You only need to be tenacious and firm in your internet ventures.

 

Trust me, there are so many smart people who make really good money online.  As I have said, time and again, there are innumerable opportunities for to make money online. You’ve got to identify those opportunities and use attraction marketing and content marketing to help your promote your business and services.  Don’t just sit and complain that you’re not making money; you’ve got to take responsibility and work smart to earn the money that you want.

 

3) It’s Costly to Make Money Online

You’ve probably heard this statement, “It takes money to make”.  To some extent it’s true, but you don’t need to spend a lot of money to make decent money online.   Many people think that you need to spend thousands of dollars to jumpstart an internet business. To the best of my knowledge and from my own experience, that’s not true.   The reason is that there are several ways to make money online.

 

You can embark on a private venture or sign up for an online lead generation opportunity and use it to promote your products online.  Still, you can offer professional services and charge fees for the services rendered to make money.  You only need to find a good opportunity and exploit. Since there are several opportunities online, only need to invest in an opportunity that fits your budget.

 

4) It’s Not Easy to Get Started 

 

Another terrible reason why people think online opportunities are myths is that it’s not easy to get started. As I have just indicated, you don’t need thousands of dollars to start an online venture. Also, you don’t need to be a pro or internet marketing guru to succeed online.  You can be an amateur or a newbie and still learn how to make money.  You’ve got to find an opportunity and act on it; don’t just sit and ruminate about it.

 

Another thing, some techniques of making money online such as attraction marketing revolve around your personality and influence. So, what’s the correlation between this and your failure to get started?   If you keep saying to yourself that it’s hard to get started then you’ll just get stuck. You’ve to put your thoughts and plans into action so that you can know whether or not you will succeed.

 

5) Online Marketing Techniques Don’t Work 

 

Finally, I know that so many people have been led to believe that internet marketing techniques such as social media marketing and online video marketing don’t work anymore. I really don’t want to dwell on it because it’s a myth that is founded on ignorance.

 

I believe this myth is perpetuated by people who tried to make money online but failed. Just to set the record straight; there are two possibilities here. It could be that they either signed up for a network marketing system that was just too difficult for them to apply to their businesses or they could have registered for programs that they didn’t utilize fully. In either case, it’s their ignorance and misconceptions that misled them and that’s why they ended up thinking that internet marketing doesn’t work.

 

Now that we’ve demystified at some of the most outrageous reasons about making money online, you have no reason or excuse not to make money online today.  Believe you me; a lot of people from all walks of life are making real money on the internet. The only difference is the way we see and respond to opportunities differently.  Your desire and ability to make money is influenced by your thoughts.

I am sure that you would click the link to the first title because of its catchy title. So, when writing your free eBook, you should come up with a variety of catchy titles. Great titles will not only help you sell your products easily, but they will also come in handy in attraction marketing.

 

Organize Your Free eBook Properly

 

Another thing; you have to be systematic and procedural when creating your free eBook for content marketing. You have to organize your eBook content properly so that readers can access and read the relevant sections easily. The reason for this is that most readers just skim the content of eBooks first.  They want to find out the value and benefits of reading your eBook by glancing at different sections. So, if you organize your eBook and break it down to neat and well-laid out sections, you will give readers and customers the impetus to read the entire eBook.

 

Start with a Short eBook

 

 

As you start out, I would highly recommend that you create a short free eBook.  A short eBook is more readable and attractive than a large eBook.  You don’t have to create a 250 + page eBook, when you can summarize and pack all the useful information in a 15-20 page eBook. Plus, many customers would not even have the time to read your big eBook. Most readers and customers just want to get to the “meaty sections” of your eBook real quick. So, don’t bother them with unnecessary details or long stories just stick to what will engage and draw the interest of your customers and prospects.

 

Create Different eBook Formats

 

Finally, make sure that you create different formats for your free eBook. Some readers would love to access it in PDF while others would love to access it in Word Document. If possible, avail your free eBook in both PDF and Microsoft Office Word version so that customers can access and download the eBook in their preferred format. Also, don’t forget customers who use eBook readers and smartphones, or PDAs. Think about the orientation, layout, page length and the formats (PC and mobile friendly formats) as they will come in handy when promoting your eBook through social media marketing or email marketing.
